It comes as no surprise to Vancouver’s “in-the-know”
crowd, but Opus
Bar has been named Vancouver's “most popular”
nightspot in the prestigious 2006 Zagat guide, the world’s
leading leisure information provider. Aptly described
as an “upscale lounge with abundant eye candy,”
the Zagat guide encourages patrons to “keep your
…eyes open at this sexy hangout for movie stars.”
You just never know who might be sipping an Opus
97 martini at the table next to you. |

After a sound night’s sleep in your stylish
guestroom, a quick water taxi ride to Granville Island
accompanied by acclaimed executive chef
Don Letendre starts your epicurean
excursion. With chef Don expertly guiding your tour
of the Farmers Market, the best of British Columbia’s
produce is revealed at every corner - from artisanal
goat cheese from Salt Spring Island, to local earthy
Chanterelle mushrooms, to ruby red Pinot Noirs from
the Naramata Bench. The culinary culmination of your
day unfolds in Elixir
over a leisurely four course meal with ingredients carefully
selected during your tour by you, and prepared by Chef
Don. The fruits of your labour never tasted so good. |

Opus Hotel’s most recent contemporary art
installation is Anthony Goicolea’s Molting.
Known to contemporary art buffs, Goicolea is a prolific
modern artist working in photography, painting, drawing
video and installation. His photography is elaborately
staged and digitally manipulated to create such epic
fantasy landscapes as Molting, described as having elements
of seductive quietude and poetry. His works are exhibited
at such internationally acclaimed galleries as New York’s
MOMA, Guggenheim and Whitney Museum of Art. Molting
is currently featured in one of the hotel’s dramatic
Penthouse
Suites. |

A hotel room is often the only place to indulge
your closet love of the Hits of the 80’s, or
to watch CSI in peace. Brand new JVC DVD/Stereo systems
installed in every guestroom at Opus means your favourite
MP3 CD or latest movie have never sounded so good.
Staying in an Executive
Suite? Now watch the latest reality show (oops,
we mean documentary) from one of two 32” Sharp
LCD TVs. Whether lounging on the couch or lying in
bed, surround sound systems and high resolution screens
ensure the perfect entertainment experience. |

Being a caring corporate citizen means getting
involved in our community in a variety of ways. We
thought you might like to know what we’ve been
up to. Opus donates soaps, shampoos, towels and other
toiletry items to Covenant
House, benefiting street youth. Bottles and cans
are recycled by United
We Can, which provides jobs for inner-city residents.
In August, Elixir Restaurant sponsered all catering
for the Art
for Aids Orphans event with proceeds going to
the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund. In July
a $10 000 cash donation was made to the Rainforest
Foundation. Opus also supports dozens of charities
each month with fundraising auction items. Some of
our employees donate their time by sitting on local
boards such as the Yaletown
Business Improvement Association, Dress
For Success, the
Dr. Peter Center and more. If you’re a client
or a guest of Opus, we’re interested in hearing
about a charity you’re supporting.
