Vancouver certainly offers many other very desirable accommodations for you and your stylish family to visit. I for one, am a huge fan of Opus Hotel in Yaletown. From my initial fawning welcome from staff, to the lovely, high standard "human" grade room, the handsome doormen rushing to get the door for me when I was in need of using the nearby, beautifully maintained lavatory facilities, The Opus Hotel was a five-star experience. This hotel's pet-friendly package also offers other perks and treats. For instance, shortly after being shown to our room, one of the hotel employees rang to ask if I was available to receive a delivery. Upon my approval, there was a knock at our door. Of course, my security alert siren went off and I dutifully drew my weapon and confronted the possible intruder. I was impressed at the staff member's unshakeable demeanor, as the smile never left their face when confronted with my sometimes over zealous and longwinded welcome. They greeted me warmly by name and then proceeded to present me with gifts. Yes, friends, you will not only receive a luxurious sheepskin bed to sleep on (for those who prefer to sleep in a "dog" bed) but also a fabulous dog spa kit that includes a wide array of treats and items for the jet set pet, like a leash and travel tag, spa paw balm, a chewable cigar and a copy of the latest issue of Modern Dog Magazine - all that the glam traveling hound requires after a long flight. For your parents, this stylish hotel is located in the Yaletown neighborhood that is full of shops and restaurants and is a hop, skip and a jump down to the ocean and seawall. The Opus also houses The Elixir restaurant, a fabulous French bistro, a coffee shop and a very hot lounge scene where all of the "beautiful people" and celebs hang. My mom and I even ran into Nik Manojlovich, the host of one of my favourite shows on the W Network, "Savoir Faire." He was telling us that he wanted a Dachshund of his own - quell surprise.
