New Hollywood's alternate to the Sutton Place “See and be seen” finds fresh meaning in the distinctly unique Opus Hotel. This new stylish stay is the perfect alternative to the conservative accomodations that studio travel departments typically select. Located in Vancouver's Yaletown (also known as ‘Little Soho’), the Opus features 97 rooms and suites divided into five different décor schemes. All rooms offer high-speed Internet connections, CD players, and Sony Playstations, but size and function vary greatly. The rooms range from 250 to 375 square feet, while the one bedroom Executive Suite, normally 505 square feet, can expand to a three bedroom configuration. For the truly indulgent, the penthouses feature wraparound balconies, sweeping views, plasma televisions, and fireplaces. The hotel bathrooms strategically maximize natural light, and hte floor-to-ceiling windows face out over the neighborhood, and yes, the neighbors CAN see you. Depending on one's exhibitionist tendencies, patrons can pull the curtain, use a silhouette shade, or put on a show. Now for those patrons preferring option three, the neighbors certainly hope they know about the fitness facilities. Other guest services include in-room spa treatments, on-site dog walkers, and free car service. As the lobby's focal point, the Opus Bar dazzles patrons with a varying-light wall that heightens the décor and compliments the eclectic furniture. Floor-to-ceiling glass separates the men's and women's bathrooms with curtains to accomodate each guest's desired level of privacy. Of course, most eyes will be fixated on monitors offering a live feed of the bar, so a date's bathroom visit is hardly the time to flirt. Don't suffer with stale stays.
