HANGING WITH THE HIPSTERS IN YALETOWN

As you walk the streets of Yaletown you can't help but wonder if this is what Belltown could have been had it been gentrified with art collectors, scholars and dilettantes instead of aimless, gum-chewing Generation Y'ers. About three years ago, the late-19th-century warehouse district was cleaned up and transformed into loft living, good restaurants, trendy hair salons, markets and shops - many of them hawking housewares - along quiet streets crowded with beautiful, dog-walking DINKs.
