Director of Sales, OPUS Vancouver
Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Sales (DOS) will have complete responsibility for sales activities at Opus Hotel. The DOS will be a member of the executive team, and will be involved with strategic planning, contributing to the profitable operation of the hotel and food and beverage operation. The DOS and all executive team members will be required to oversee the hotel operation on an as-needed basis as directed by the General Manager.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- As member of executive committee, participate in planning, organizing and advancement of Opus Vancouver and its employees.
- Manage, develop and mentor sales & marketing staff
- Develop annual sales and marketing plan and budget
- Achieve revenue and occupancy goals
- Set mutually agreed upon revenue and room night targets
- Develop of customer, community, and industry relationships
- Research, identify, target, and solidify new business
- Demonstrate decisive and corrective action as necessary
- Maintain customer and guest data bases
- Communicate, support and demonstrate the philosophy, culture, vision, values and branding of Opus Hotels in all aspects of sales and marketing
- Work with revenue manager to ensure guest loyalty program drives repeat business and rewards repeat customers in a manner that reflects the innovative boutique environment.
- Develop the Opus brand and ensure all written communication, sales and marketing materials and web site content meet branding standards
- Seek out and establish partnership and sponsorship deals as appropriate.
- Create and implement of packages and promotions
- Participate in trade shows, fam trips, entertainment of clients and industry events
- Liaise with sales and marketing suppliers
- Oversee hotel operations when required
- Ensure Sales department operates within Labor Relations and WCB guidelines
- Complete annual performance reviews for assigned staff
- Demonstrate a positive role model image, adhering to standards, attitude, grooming and conduct
- Work with food and beverage management team to create successful promotions and to contribute to overall sales success of F&B operations
- Provide expertise, support and assistant to other Trilogy Group of Companies activities as appropriate
- Other assigned duties as appropriate to position.
