Restaurant Manager, Elixir & OPUS Bar
Job Summary:
The Restaurant Manager for Elixir Bar leads daily to provide exceptional service and leadership in a professional environment. As a part of the Elixir Restaurant-Opus Bar management team, he or she must also demonstrate a genuine passion for food and wine, a commitment to excellence and “hands-on” management approach. The successful candidate must also understand and have financial management experience in a fine dining restaurant and high volume beverage business.
First Year Priorities
During the first year the successful candidate will be expected to:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of current needs of the business;
- Working closely with the General Manager of Opus Hotel provide effective, value-added insights into the operation of the business to ensure the leadership team can make fully informed decisions;
- Drive and grow profitability
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with all managers to ensure that all F & B team members are guest-focused.
- Ensures all servers meet or exceed our standards for hospitality, friendly and efficient service.
- Utilizes all company-specified systems and procedures to ensure shift execution.
- Involved in marketing and PR of the bar and restaurant
- Manages effective shift execution, ensures guest satisfaction and inspires guest loyalty.
- Is involved in the support and operations all Food & Beverage departments, including Off Site Catering, Room Service and Banquets.
- Maintains and builds new relationship with vendors & sponsors
- Participates in informative, focused weekly manager meetings.
- Is highly involved in the late night operations of the bar and specifically the beverage business.
- Understands sales and profit goals and trouble –shoots problem areas.
- Helps aggressively manage waste, comps, voids and discounts.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Have 2+ years of fine dining experience coupled with a excellent knowledge of beverage service.
- Prior hotel experience is an asset
- A team building leadership style that will be effective in developing, retaining and motivating the F & B team
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to mentor and coach
- Advanced culinary and wine knowledge
- Organized with attention to details
- Has effectively managed the financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes
